Austria: Helblinghaus

*yay* My first postcard from Austria :)

Innsbruck is the capital city of Tyrol in western Austria. It hosted the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics as well as the 1984 and 1988 Winter Paralympics. It also hosted the first Winter Youth Olympics in 2012.

In the picture is the Helblinghaus in the Old Town section of Innsbruck. It was named after Sebastian Helbling, who owned the building from 1800 to 1827. The original structure was built in the fifteenth century, but evolved significantly with new architectural styles in subsequent centuries.

Russia: Kryukov Canal

The historic Kryukov Canal is less well known than St. Petersburg's troika of narrow central waterways. It was originally dug from the Neva to the Moyka River, then is was later extended to the Fontanka River.

Chile: Salar de Atacama

Salar de Atacama is the largest salt flat in Chile. It is surrounded by mountains, and has no drainage outlets. Large volcanoes dominate the landscape including the Lascar, which is one of the most active volcanoes in Chile.

Although I have not heard of Salar de Atacama prior to receiving this card, I would love to visit a salt flat one day because they are gorgeous after rain and reflects the sky like a huge mirror.

Thailand: Mummy Snoopy and Woodstock

Snoopy is Charlie Brown's pet beagle in the comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz. He is a loyal, innocent, imaginative and good-nature talking beagle who is prone to imagining  fantasy lives, including being an author, a college student, and a World War I flying ace.

I am really happy to receive this card because Snoopy is my sister's favorite character since she was young. She was gifted a snoopy plushy by her kindergarten teacher, and since then she loved snoopy.

Sender also put a few very cute and unique stamps on the card which I loved :D I have never seen a stamp that was long enough to cover the entire side of a postcard.

Hope you liked this card as much as I did :)

South Korea: Happy Birthday

After a few weeks of final exams and graduation craziness...
I finally have time to write postcards again :D *yay*

About a month ago, it was my 22nd birthday :) And it was in the middle of my last final exam so I didn't really get to celebrate it...

However, my sweet postcard-pal from South Korea sent me this card that arrived right on my birthday and it made my day :D It is a Korean girl dressed in traditional Korean clothes called Hanbok, blowing candles off a cake with a horse.

I thought it was a very cute and interesting card because it was a fusion of both the past and present :) Mostly, I just was grateful that someone remembered my birthday haha...

Anyways :) Thank you for reading my blog again even though I haven't posted in a long while :) Have a great day and enjoy this summer and sunshine :D
