Switzerland: Basel

Basel is a city in northwestern Switzerland on the river Rhine. It is located where the Swiss, French and German borders meet. The official language of Basel is German (the Swiss variety of Standard), but the main spoken language is the local variant of the Alemannic Swiss German dialect.
