Germany: Schloss Neuschwanstein

Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19-century Romanesque Revival palace on a hill above the village of Hohenschwangau in southwest Bavaria, Germany.

The castle was intended as a home for the king, until he died in 1886. It was open to the public shortly after his death.

The palace has appeared prominently in several movies and served as the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle.
