USA: Multnomah Falls, Oregon

Hello everyone :) How was your winter break and New Years? Did you did anything exciting?
I had a great vacation and traveled quite a bit over the holidays. In those 10 days of my vacation, I did a little road trip with my boyfriend to different places in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Although most of the places we went were to visit family and friends, the highlight of the trip was Multnomah Falls in Oregon that's located along the Columbia River.

From Lewiston, Idaho, we drove a few hours til we reached the Columbia River, and traveled along the Historic Columbia River Highway westward towards Portland. The Columbia River serves as the boarder between Washington State and Oregon State. It is a very scenic drive along the river and there are streams and other waterfalls along the way.

Located in the Columbia River Gorge, Multnomah Falls is the tallest waterfall in Oregon State, and also the second tallest year-round waterfall in the US. At the bottom of the waterfall, there is a small lodge that serves as a information center and gift shop. If you follow the trail behind and walk 0.2 miles, you'll reach the Benson footbridge that is 32m above the lower cascade.

The day I went was super cold and windy....After the walk up the bridge, my boyfriend and I ran down to the lodge for some hot coffee and cocoa...
 The Princess Legend

A legend is told of a terrible sickness that threatened the Multnomah people. An old medicine man revealed that the sickness would pass if a maiden threw herself from a high cliff on the Big River to the rocks below. When the Chief's daughter saw the sickness on her lover's face, she went to the cliff and plunged to her death. Now when the breeze blows through the water, a silvery stream separates from the upper falls. The misty stream fashions a from of the maiden, a token of the Great Sprit's acceptance of her sacrifice.

Lastly, an Oregon State shaped card with the beautiful Multnomah Falls on it :)

Do you agree that this place is beautiful also?
Would you consider visiting if you had the chance to?
