Some ideas of what to do if you decide to visit this beautiful city in the Netherlands:

1) Grote Markt
At the historic heart of Haarlem, this vast square is located underneath the imposing Grote Kerk, and is the image of the city that many people will recognize. Hosting regular festivals, concerts and markets, the Grote Markt is the hub of daily life in Haarlem and just happens to be one of the prettiest city squares in the country.

2) Frans Hals Museum
Golden Age portrait painter Frans Hals is one of the Haarlem's most famous sons, and his legacy can be seen all over the city. Nowhere more so than at the Frans Hals museum, a large gallery dedicated to Golden Age art and Hal's portraiture.

3) Hidden Courtyards
Haarlem is a city known for its Hofjes, and there are beautiful green spaces tucked away behind many unassuming street, most dating back to medieval times. There are 21 main public hofjes in Haarlem, spanning from the ancient to the very modern.

Netherlands: Bengal Cat

The Bengal is a domestic cat breed developed to look like exotic jungle cats such as leopards, margays and clouded leopards. Bengal cats were developed by selective breeding from hybrids of the Asia leopard cat.

Netherlands: My Neighbor Totoro

My Neighbor Totoro is a 1988 Japanese animated fantasy film by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.
The film was about the two young daughters of a professor and their interactions with friendly wood spirits in postwar rural Japan. The movies was ranked 41st in Empire magazine's "The 100 Best Films of World Cinema" in 2010. The character Totoro mad multiple cameo appearances in a number of Studio Ghibli films and video games and also serves as the mascot for the studio, and also recognized as one of the most popular character in Japanese animation.

USA: Yellowstone - Midway Geyser Basin (Netherlands)

The Grand Prismatic Spring is the largest hot spring in Yellowstone National Park, and it is considered to be the third largest in the world.

The colors begin with a deep blue center followed by pale blue. Green algae forms beyond the shallow edge. Outside the scalloped rim a band of yellow fades into orange. Red then marks the outer border. Steam often shrouds the spring which reflects the brilliant colors.

Netherlands: Dog and Cat Friendship

Although I only have two cats and have ever had a dog before, I think they can be friends just like this postcard. :) I would love to have a dog one day along with my two cats because dogs are more playful and they provide a different kind of companionship since they enjoy the outdoors more than cats :)

Few days ago, I received this cat postcard from The Netherlands. Somehow my sister first thought it was a tiger... But this is one of the favorite cat postcards I've received :) I take close-up pictures of my cat also because their whiskers are so cute, and they make me want to touch them all the time. But then they would make this face...protesting my close encounters ...

The Netherlands: Sliver Miffy

Yesterday, I received a postcard from Australia and The Netherlands respectively.

This card sent from The Netherlands was a kind reply from a Postcrossing who I've sent to card to in the past. Although I was confused for a second...I believe this cute bunny on this card is Miffy. :D The reason it is Miffy is that it has the cross mouth, which is the signature feature of Miffy. I still doubt myself sometime because I've never seen a black and white Miffy before...

Would you agree that it is Miffy...? Or it's some other character..?

The Netherlands: Lavender Field in France

Hello :) How's everyone enjoying their day?
For the last two weeks, I've received four postcards: France, Germany, Czech Republic, and The Netherlands.

Sender bought this card from France during her travel last summer. This is a absolutely beautiful card due to the fact that I LOVE purple and lavender. I could almost smell that wonderful scent out of this postcard.
